The Creators of DAARWIN

Many times we forget that other people are not aware of the wonders of #DAARWIN. In the upcoming weeks we will create several posts to explain the different aspects of DAARWIN and its purpose within the #constructionindustry.

Our first post will be dedicated to the ones that created DAARWIN itself, SAALG Geomechanics. We are a #software and #engineering. Barcelona-based Start-up company. Our specialty is in ground information data management, analysis and visualization in real-time, and geotechnical modelling in construction projects.

We were born in 2016 from the Geotechnical Division of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya BarcelonaTech, from the PhD work and collaboration between Cristian de Santos and Ignasi Aliguer, with the assistance of professors Eduardo Alonso, Antoni Gens and Albert Ledesma. Its mission is to use ground data analysis as a leverage to make construction projects more efficent, safer, and more sustainable.

SAALG Geomechanics has been working actively since 2017 in more than 30 projects around the world, collaborating with the most relevant stakeholders in the industry such as Ferrovial, ACCIONA, Bouygues Construction, COWI, Mott MacDonald, Amey, Transport for London.
