ISSMGE origins

SAALG Geomechanics is all about pushing boundaries and knowledge further. But we understand that we are building this knowledge on the work that was previously done by others better than us. Therefore, we are starting a new section that we will call “If you didn´t know, now you know”.

Since SAALG Geomechanics just started to contribute with the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE), we think that the best way to start is to remind everyone how the society was founded.
